What is CrossFit?
CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program to build a well balanced athlete capable of all 10 elements of fitness - strength, endurance, flexibility, stamina, speed, agility, power, accuracy, coordination and balance.
Why Train at CrossFit Stamford?
All CrossFit Gyms are different, we are not a franchise system, we are independent affiliates. At CF Stamford we focus on group training (anywhere from 5 to 30 people at a time) and semi private training. We offer classes 7 days a week.
Each time you enter the the gym you will be coached. We are not like most gyms, we require that you always work with a coach. High quality coaching yields faster results and helps prevents injury.
In addition we offer specialty clinics to our members (nutrition seminars and counseling, running clinics, group outings, Olympic lifting club, In House competitions etc).
Our program provides all of the benefits of personal training plus much more at a fraction of the cost.
Expect to be treated as a goal driven athlete. Our athlete's goals are as varied as their backgrounds, ages, and experiences: Preparing for the next season in a sport, losing fat, getting back to the old you or just trying to stay flexible, injury free and healthy.
The secondary benefits of our program can't be measured. Confidence, feeling good, being pain free, being part of a great community, making friends, being more mobile and agile are the intangible benefits our training provides.
The atmosphere in our gym is one of teamwork, support and camaraderie.
We time, score and measure work done because we believe that fitness can, and should, be measured.
We live in a world of constantly lowering standards that implies that mediocrity is a goal to be met. You will never find that here. If you never get out of your comfort zone your body is simply not going to change.
Is CrossFit Right for Me?
CrossFit is Hard. It is NOT for - complainers, whiners, and excuse makers. You're going to work harder than you ever have in the gym or on the field.
CrossFit IS for people who are willing to give an honest effort, want to be challenged, like to try new things, enjoy training with others and are serious about changing their lives.
Our groups are made up of varying degrees of fitness level, age and exercise history. All we ever ask from our members is that they work as hard as they can and support their teammates.
We are NOT a generic fitness "bootcamp". You will be pushed beyond what you thought was possible. You'll look forward to going to the gym and never look at working out the same way.
